Healthy Ways to Fill Your Social Calendar

Featured Image

A healthy social life doesn’t mean your calendar is filled every minute of every day. It means the activities you choose to put on your calendar support your health, help you socialize, and promote your happiness. This is very much the mentality of Rogue Valley Country Club members.

If this matches with what you want from your social life, here are some ways you can achieve it through the plethora of amenities available at Rogue Valley—even if you aren’t a golfer.

Sports Center

The Sports Center offers racquet enthusiasts lots of ways to get in the swing of things—from tennis to pickleball to ping-pong. Players at Rogue Valley have no trouble finding willing and able partners to hit around occasionally or schedule regular games with. It’s a great way to meet people, network, and make new friends.

The heated pool is the perfect place to meet friends for a water aerobics class, swim some laps, or let the kids just be kids. There is always a lifeguard on duty and music playing to keep the vibe fun and safe.

Other ways to keep your heart rate up at Rogue Valley include a full-sized basketball court, a full-sized sand volleyball court, and a batting cage. You can also select from slower paced activities like bocce ball and mini golf.

Fitness Center

Many Rogue Valley members find visiting the Fitness Center is the stress-relieving highlight of their week. It offers 3,500 square feet of exercise and cardiovascular equipment, including free weights and resistance training stations. Members can work out on their own, meet friends for regular sessions, or join classes to keep them motivated about reaching their fitness goals. Several friendly personal trainers are available to support you and help you get the most out of your workouts.

Eating Local and Healthy

Sharing food is one of the best ways to maintain and strengthen your social connections, and members have plenty of great ways to do it at Rogue Valley Country Club. Our chefs locally source ingredients and strive to offer delicious and healthy options at each of our eight dining locations. From a white tablecloth romantic dinner to pool-side snacks, you will love the food and the ways it helps bring people together at Rogue Valley.

Food is also central to many of the organized social events that Rogue Valley Country Club hosts to bring members together. The activities are designed to offer fun for all ages—from infants to grandparents. You can show off your smarts at trivia, engage in wine tastings, listen to live music, or attend the annual classic car show.

Golf

Even if you don’t think golf is your game, giving it a shot at Rogue Valley Country Club may change your mind. There is the always majestic 18-hole Rogue Course (which hosts one of the largest amateur tournaments in the nation each year) or you can opt for the more casual 9-hole Oaks Course.

The Oaks is the perfect place to learn to play or enjoy an extra casual round with some great friends. You can take private lessons or just hit some balls at the driving range to get a feel for it.

The time outside and the natural beauty of towering oaks and the Siskiyou Mountains in the distance mean that golfing at Rogue Valley Country Club can be as much a serene oasis as a form of exercise.
